MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Elections were held Tuesday in six communities of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

Click here and then select the green ‘More Elections’ tab on the right side of the screen to see the slate of candidates and results in the Pearl River, Conehatta, Standing Pine, Tucker, Crystal Ridge and Bogue Chitto communities. All results are unofficial until certified.

Results released by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Tuesday night showed Demado C. Mingo and Dorothy B. Wilson very close in Tucker. Loriann Denson Ahshapanek had the lead in Standing Pine. Christopher Eaves led with 71% in Crystal Ridge. Kendall Shaun Wallace and Angela S. Hundley led the field for two council seats in Bogue Chitto. In Pearl River, Deborah Martin and Kent L. Wesley led a large field of candidates for two seats on the council. Several candidates were bunched together as they compete for two tribal council seats in Conehatta.

Absentee ballots will be tabulated beginning Wednesday afternoon.
Two council seats are available in Pearl River, Conehatta and Bogue Chitto.
Pearl River had the highest number of candidates to qualify at twenty.
Fourteen people ran in Bogue Chitto. Eight candidates were on the ballot in Conehatta.
The other communities each have one representative on the tribal council.
