MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - If you’ve been itching for a movie night, we have some good news for you! Modern Day Disciples premieres at the Temple Theatre Saturday, June 19th at 5:30 p.m. The movie, written by two Mississippians, features a story based on faith.

“The main message of this movie is actually pretty cool for Father’s Day, because it kind of takes you on a journey with a father and son, in kind of a worst case scenario,” said Danny Todd, the writer, director, and lead of the movie.

It took Todd and assistant director and co-lead Ryan Hanner four years and three rewrites to bring it to its final version. The premiere is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

“We started actual filming production August of last year, 2020,” Hanner said. “We started doing pre-production way before that, getting the cast, Danny was finishing up the latest revision of the script.”

The premiere is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

The movie “A Flower from Heaven” plays at 2:30 p.m. the same day. The cost to see that film is $7.
