LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - The search continues for Montrell Taylor, a person of interest in the death of Denisha Knight, who was assaulted around 8:45 p.m. at a residence in the 1100 block of Sandflat Rd.

Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun said Taylor is a person of interest in this case and he was still avoiding authorities as of Friday afternoon. He confirmed that Knight and Taylor were in a romantic relationship.

There is no warrant for Taylor’s arrest at this time, but Calhoun said investigators need to find him to ask questions about what happened.

Calhoun said he believes a car that struck a house on Murphy Road Thursday night is connected to Taylor and this case.

Anyone who has information about Taylor may report it through Crimestoppers at 855-485-8477.
